– The United States and Brazil enjoy robust political
and economic relations and they engage on trade and
investment matters through a number of initiatives.
- Brazil was the United States’ 9th largest goods
export market in 2018 and the United States is
Brazil’s second-largest trading partner.
– Two-way trade in goods and services was $103.9
billion (70.7 billion in goods and 33.2 billion in
services) in 2018.
- The United States goods trade surplus with Brazil
was $8.5 billion in 2018, a 7.3% increase ($575
million) over 2017.
- The United States has a services trade surplus of an
estimated $22 billion with Brazil in 2018, up 11.8%
from 2017.
- Brazil is planning to spend billions of dollars in
several projects in energy, transport and
infrastructure (airports, ports, highways, railways,
clean energy, water and sanitation, agribusiness, etc.)
- Brazil represents 210 million potential new
customers!
