Pakistan is strategically located in South Asia and is a gateway to Central Asia.  Its diverse geological landscape is home to vast mineral deposits, including copper, gold, lithium, antimony and other critical minerals.  Pakistan has undertaken initiatives to improve its mining business and investment environment as well as infrastructure to make it easier for U.S. companies to enter the market.  Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Energy (Petroleum), Ali Pervaiz Malik, will offer a high-level view of the Government of Pakistan’s strategy for transforming its mining sector.  He will describe specific opportunities for U.S. companies to contribute to important aspects of Pakistan’s mineral exploration, development and support operations.  Private-sector hosts will present opportunities for mining equipment and service providers to participate in the operation of the first-of-its kind major Reko Diq copper and gold mine in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
